The final race of Rwanda Cycling Cup 2019 of which Cogebanque is one of major sponsors has been successful concluded with the victory of Jean Bosco Hategekimana from Les Amis Sportifs winning the stage in Men Junior’s Category and emerging the best junior rider of the year.
Les Amis Sportifs is a cycling team based Rwamagana. The final race saw Diane Ingabire from Benediction Club winning in Women Category while Didier Munyaneza from Bedection Excell Energy won in Men Elie&U23.
The race that kicked off around 9am saw racers Race following the track from Kimironko-Zindiro-Economic Zone-Mulindi-Kabuga-Rugende-Nyagasambu-Musha-Ntunga-Rwamagana-Ntunga-Musha-Nyagasambu-Rugende-Kabuga-Mulindi-Kigali Parents School-Kimironko.
Arriving at Kimironko, racers in men junior’s category made one lap along the road Kimironko-Zindiro-Economic Zone-Kigali Parents School-Kimironko while Men Elite&U23 made two laps before crossing the finishing line.
Women covered 100.6km, men juniors covered 113.4 km while Men Elite&U23 covered the distance of 126.8 km.
Uhiriwe Byiza Renus from Benediction Excel Energy emerged the best overall rider of the year in Men Elite&U23 while Diane Ingabire from Benediction Club emerged the best rider of the year in women category.
Among others, Benediction Cycling Club was the overall best team in women category, Les Amis Sportifs emerged the best team in men juniors while Benediction Excel Energy was the best team of the year in Men Elie&U23.
After handing over prizes to winners, Cogebanque received a trophy in recognition of the long-year sponsorship of the race that has been successfully concluded.
Cogebanque Head of Marketing and Product Development, Antoine Iyamuremye expressed delight on behalf of the bank for sponsoring the great event that left indelible memories to cycling fans as laps were underway in different towns across the country.
