Engen, one of Rwanda’s leading fuel marketers has sponsored Rwanda Sprint Rally 2019 in which its Premium Rally Team emerged winner. The rally was organized by Women in Motor Sports.
Engen Team comprising Giancardo Davite and co-driver Rutabingwa Fernand maintained lead in all stages and won the rally using 55min and 4 seconds. The duo attributed the victory to good condition of the car.
The rally was also an opportunity to showcase advanced high performance oil for all type of motors available at all Engen Quick Lubes in Rwanda.

Description
Engen Premium Motor Oil 40 is a premium quality SAE 40 viscosity grade motor oil intended for use in passenger cars, light trucks and bakkies as well as farm equipment, especially where a single grade oil is preferred. This oil has good lubricating properties and will provide satisfactory protection against wear and oxidation and prolong engine life. Engen Premium Motor Oil 40 meets and exceed API Service Classifications SF/CD.
Application
Engen Premium Motor Oil 40 is recommended for use in all naturally aspirated petrol and diesel engines of passenger cars, light commercial vehicles and farm equipment, for which single viscosity grade oils are specified. Being SAE 40 viscosity grade is highly recommended for use in vehicles where oil consumption is of concern.

As Rwanda Sprint Rally was underway; Engen provided fuel, engine oils, tyres and servicing the car of Giancardo Davite rally team.
As a renowned provider of oil and lubricants, Engen ensured that the car was in perfect condition guarantying the engine lifespan, refilling the car and replacing tyres.
Engen also provides maintenance services using products like Petronas Syntrium 5000XS, among others, that keep the engine strong as it is gentle on the vehicle engine parts.
Rwanda Sprint Rally was the second of its kind organized since 2018.
The participating aces in the one-day rally which took place in Bugesera district, Eastern Province on Saturday 24th August 2019 were flagged off in Bugesera following the Gako-Gasenyi-Nemba track.
Seven teams of which 3 participants were women competed in the rally that was also in line with preparations for the upcoming African Rally due in October 2019.
Engen Rally Team was followed by the crew of Claude Gakwaya and Claudine Batamuliza using 1hour and 14 seconds.
After receiving the trophy in a colorful ceremony that took place at Golden Tulip Hotel in Nyamata town of Bugesera district, Giancardo expressed delight over the victory and thanked Engen Rwanda Premium Team for all the support including maintenance, refueling, among other technical assistance that gave him a competitive edge during the race.
Shema Amani, the Commercial Manager at Engen Rwanda said that the victory of sponsored drivers induces pride and reflects on the company’s ambition of maintaining lead position in all services rendered to clients.
“We are the winning team. Our efforts have really paid off and the victory gave us courage to keep the momentum in sponsoring sports events. It is neither the first nor the last time sponsoring such events and we look forward to continued partnerships in promoting sports,” he promised.
Last year, Egen Rwanda partnered with the Rwanda AutoMobile Club (RAC) for the fourth year to sponsor the 13th edition of the Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally.
The sponsorship of the rally involved $15,000 under a one-year renewable contract.
Rwanda Mountain Gorilla rally awarded Engen Rwanda Premium Team with a trophy as a token of appreciation for being the main sponsor of the rally for the 4th year, consecutively.
