The Rwanda Prime Minister Dr. Pierre Damien HABUMUREMYI Saturday officiated the beginning of the 8th National Children Summit held in the Parliament in Kimihurura.
Addressing children present at the Summit, Prime Minister reminded them that if they attain dignity Rwanda will be also with dignity.
The premier urged children to study hard, reminding them that Rwanda needs intelligent Children, and future intelligent leaders.
Prime Minister called children representatives to be role model wherever they live and help sensitizing their fellow to avoid drug use and vagrancy.
“Body cleanness relates to mind cleanness, so I urge every child and families to improve cleanness and hygiene” said prime Minister.
Dr. Habumuremyi urged children to work hard and find farming and agriculture small initiatives to boost their economy.
This 8th Children’s summit host children representatives from 416 children’s delegate one per administrative Sector, 30 presidents of children forums at District level, 6 children representing children from refugee camps and 30 children representing children with disabilities.
This 8th Children Summit focuses on three major areas alcohol, drug abuses, street children, cleanness and hygiene.
The Children’s summit is an annual national event organized to provide a platform for children to express their views, opinions and suggestions concerning the development of the country.
