As year-end festivities begin to unfold, MTN Rwanda has launched the second season of ‘Izihirwe With MTN’ a campaign launched to celebrate and reward customers for their loyalty to MTN brand.
The campaign which articulates MTN Rwanda’s mission of making the lives of its customers, a whole lot brighter kicked off on Monday 21st October and will run until 20th December 2019.
Customers will be rewarded with daily, weekly and monthly gifts that include cash prizes of up to Rwf 1 million, cows, phones, movie tickets, internet bundles, call packs and airtime.
Speaking at the launch of Izihirwe With MTN, Richard Acheampong, MTN Rwanda’s Chief Marketing Officer said the telecom is always looking for new ways of deepening its connection with customers and that the better way is to reward and celebrate them through such promotion.
“Izihirwe 2.0 will be bigger and better with more exciting prizes for our customers,” he said.
To participate in the Izihirwe with MTN campaign, one has to opt in by downloading MyMTN App or dialing *140*6# to join the celebration for free and check points.
In addition to Izihirwe campaign, MTN has introduced Izihirwe na Muzika as the telecom celebrates music. Izihirwe na Muzika seeks to entertain, while developing local music talent and discovering new talents to help them grow to stardom.
“The campaign is not just to reward customers, but a way of celebrating moments in time that mean a lot to everyone in Rwanda. Music is the world’s universal language and connector. That is why we are using entertainment to bring Rwandans together,” stressed Acheampong.
Izihirwe na Muzika comprises of countrywide roadshows in Rubavu, Huye, Musanze, Rwamagana and Kigali with some of most popular artistes in Rwanda such as Riderman, DJ Marnaud, Social Mula, Jay Polly, Marina, Safi Madiba na Queen Cha.
Regional heroes will also stand a chance to compete in the MTN DJ battles and Open Mic competitions in their regions with the finale in Kigali, where winners in each regional category walk away with cash worth Rwf 200,000 and Rwf100,000 respectively. Regional winners will then compete at the finale and stand a chance to win the overall prize of Rwf1,500,000 and Rwf1,000,000 respectively.
Customers can also get to watch videos of their favourite Izihirwe na Muzika artists through MTN Videos, a platform that provides customers with unlimited access to high quality video content from different genres like Music, Movies, TV, Sports and much more.
To subscribe to MTN Videos, one can visit video.mtn.co.rw and enjoy premium videos for just Rwf 200 per day.
Acheampong also urged local entertainers to embrace MTN Videos as a channel to earn money.
“With the future of listening to music and watching videos being online, streaming services will be a source of income for entertainers and hopefully incentivise them to make and share more of their content with fans,” he said.
MTN Rwanda alerts customers to be mindful of possible scams during the period of the promotion. Izihirwe With MTN winners will be contacted via the MTN official line 0784000000. Redemption of prizes is free, and winners will not be asked to make any payments in cash or in kind.
Terms and conditions for the Izihirwe With MTN promotion are available on the MTN website www.mtn.co.rwor at any MTN service centre countrywide.
At the launch, customers walked away with different prizes including umbrellas, capes, and were also given opportunity to grab free money in a cash machine.
