I&M Bank on Saturday joined residents of Gicumbi district in the monthly Umuganda during which participants renovated a house of a vulnerable resident and built a kitchen garden (akarima k’igikoni).
The community work took place in Rugarama village, Jamba cell, Nyamiyaga sector of Gicumbi district.
After conducting the community work, the bank’s management unveiled another surprise by providing money to subscribe for 1000 vulnerable residents for Mutuelle de Santé.
Beneficiaries are from Rutare , Bukure and Nyamiyaga sectors.
Epimaque Mpayimana , the Executive Secretary of Gicumbi district appreciated the contribution and partnership with the bank in enhancing residents’ welfare.
“The activity was successfully completed, and we are delighted to have jointly conducted the community work in with I&M Bank. This is a boost to existing partnership contributing to welbeing of Giumbi residents where I&M Bank has subscribed for 1000 Gicumbi residents for Mutuelle de Santé.”
I&M Bank MD Robin Bairstow, expressed delight on behalf of the team having joined Gicumbi residents in the noble cause and highlighted that providing for Mutuelle de Santé sponsorship is part of the bank’s social corporate responsibility, giving back to the community and contributing to the improvement of welfare of Rwandans.
“We are happy to have joined you for the community work. Introducing this homegrown solution, Rwanda has proved that a community can achieve a lot together. Beyond participation in the community work, we have provided Mutuelle de Santé for 1000 residents to contribute to improved wellbeing of vulnerable residents,” he said.
A similar activity was conducted last year where I&M Bank Rwanda staff participated in community work in Busigari cell, Cyanzarwe sector of Rubavu district and subscribed for 1000 vulnerable residents for Mutuelle de Sante.
