MTN Rwanda ‘IZIHIRWE with YOLO’ promotion ends with a spark
To conclude the IZIHIRWE with YOLO promotion, a campaign that started three months ago and that aimed at rewarding the youth’s loyalty to MTN, a final prize giveaway was organized this Friday, 6th September where IZIHIRWE with YOLO subscribers won items including cash, television sets, cows, HP laptops and ‘Tecno Spark 2’ phones among others. Among the winners of this week’s giveaways were Uwiriza Bella Sonia, Tuyishime Eric and Habineza Jean Bosco who all went home with a five-hundred thousand cheque.
“We are so thankful that MTN Rwanda gave us more personalized offerings with internet and voice packages that allow us to stay connected at all times. I never thought the odds would ever be in my favor when I subscribed to this promotion but I was called yesterday to come and pick my cheque. It is a wonderful experience to me and I personally pledge to be MTN’s advocate with my family and friends,” says Tuyishime Eric who won a five-hundred thousand Rwandan Francs prize.
The youth holds an increasing value in any marketing strategy. MTN Rwanda continuously invests in sustainable promotional products that are in tune with their young customers’ needs. For instance, the IZIHIRWE with YOLO campaign was not only meant to generate more business leads, amplify customer loyalty or stabilize MTN’s bottom line but had also as a major objective to support the youth in starting, growing and sustaining their businesses hence enabling them to create jobs, build communities and transform lives.
“Most young people in the developing world face little prospect of obtaining a job in the formal sector; for many, self-employment is the only option. Prizes given in this promotion like for instance the five hundred thousand cash prize is a sufficient capital fund that can help the youth to start their own businesses and contribute positively to the growth of the economy. We believe that helping young people to earn a living through entrepreneurship can make a crucial contribution to poverty reduction” says Ruhinguka Desire, MTN Marketing Operations Senior Manager
MTN Rwanda currently serves up to five million customers across the country and gives online and offline coverage to seventy percent of the Rwandan population. In an increasingly competitive market, MTN Rwanda plans on introducing more products and services that are tailored to customers’ needs and exceed this coverage in the near future.
