Tigomatic Stepping into the future of financial solutions

Tigo Rwanda inaugurated its Tigomatic machine on June 21, a product which will ensure that its clients can serve themselves through this automatic vender. Indeed just like the Minister of Youth and ICT Jean Philbert Nsengiyunva scored, “the future of a cashless economy and a paperless government is closing in faster than expected.”

Tigomatic can be compared to an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) for Tigo Cash but the description would still remain wanting because the machine offers more than just deposits, withdraws and balance inquiries. It includes a component of an automatic vending machine which enables clients to purchase electronic top-up to their mobiles.

In addition, the machine allows performance of daily Tigo services like SIM swap for those clients who lose SIM-cards. “The possibilities that a Tigo employ who is serving a client on a SIM-swap or another service would delay are being minimized further by bringing an option of self service,” offered Diego Camberos, the Chief Executive Officer at Tigo Rwanda.

Tigomatic is a very user friendly machine that Camberos believes will be able to support all the classes in the over 1.7million customers that the telecommunication company has of the Rwandan market. This belief the CEO shares with his Head of Corporate services and Customer operations Rene Albert Bascope.

“For the first time, Tigo customers will enjoy the ease of having an automated service at their disposal. Tigomatic, with its user friendly touch screen allows customers to perform transactions at anytime be it day or night.”

Bascope added that while developing the machine, speed was a major factor of consideration. “A user is able to make a transaction in less than one minute which would have taken longer in the former way of doing things,” he scored.

Also being the first of its kind on the African continent in the operations of telecommunication companies, Tigomatic is a product worth boasting about and Tigo Rwanda believes that it will further their dream of giving Rwandans a platform to express themselves.

“We are delighted to introduce Tigomatic for it only unique in our country,” Camberos noted. He added that “implementing this type of solution is part of our strategy to meet the ever growing expectations of our subscribers. Very soon we will implement additional functionalities like postpaid bill settlement, sale and registration of new SIM cards.”

Despite that it is a very exciting development in the provision of services in the telecommunication sector; Tigomatic poses greater benefit in transcending the barriers to financial inclusion in the country.

Minister Nsengiyunva scored that the need for developments such as Tigomatic is still way high in order to ensure that even those of Rwandans who cannot use the services of banks in the ordinary way can be financially serviced. “We commend this milestone in improving services to our people and urge you not to rest for there is still a lot to achieve.”

Currently Tigomatic which is serviced by access bank does not showcase a banking option but Mr. Camberos scored that this also is envisioned in the near future.

It cannot be said any better, indeed “the future is here” and it is for Rwandans to enjoy the efficiency and swiftness that the future brings.
