Announcing the changes, Tongai Maramba, Chief Executive Officer – Tigo Rwanda, said that the firm took the difficult but necessary decision to restructure the way Tigo organized itself in order to be better equipped to compete in the dynamic local telecommunication market while providing the best customer experience possible.
“This plan is in support of our stated strategy to create a stronger focus on our customers and business users in Rwanda. Tigo seeks to reorganise the business to continue to meet the needs of our customers and achieve our growth plans.“
The reorganisation is expected to be complete by 31 January 2016, up until that time all affected employees will be offered guidance and placement support.
Maramba continued: “Through a supportive, professional and respectful process, engagement will now be conducted with those who are affected by these changes. This is an important part of being a responsible business, and we will always make sure we do our best to look after our people”.
