Kigali, Rwanda – December 2, 2015. – Tigo Rwanda, in November was proud to announce an important milestone in the history of the company. As per the statistics of the Rwanda Utilities & Regulatory Authority (R.U.R.A.) Ruth Ndacyayisenga, a grade 10 student from Bugarama, became the company’s 3 millionth customer.
17 years old second born of a family of six, Ruth Ndacyayisenga, is a student with dreams of becoming a successful entrepreneur as she pursues History Economics and Geography studies at Muganza High School.
Ruth Ndacyayisenga will be the lucky recipient of Tigo prizes including a cow, school fees for siblings and self for the remaining duration of their high school education. In addition, to the many other gifts from Tigo employees, she will see their family house face lifted thanks to Tigo Rwanda.
Speaking on this achievement, Tongai Maramba, Chief Executive Officer, Tigo Rwanda, expressed gratitude to the customers on behalf of the entire team: ‘We are honoured and humbled by the show of confidence that Rwandans have given us over the last six years.
