Mushubi Tea Factory to start processing in April
On the 11st January 2013, the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister paid a visit to Mushubi Tea Factory in Buruhukiro Sector of Nyamagabe District, Southern Province where he urged MIG owners of the factory to meet their deadline of completing works by 15 April 2013.
The Prime Minister thanked MIG (Multisector Investment Group) for having chosen to invest in tea processing.
Dr. Habumuremyi pointed out that the Government through its institutions EWSA (Electricity Water and Sanitation Authority), RTDA (Rwanda Transport Development Agency) has to meet deadline by providing infrastructure facilities like roads and electricity.
The Premier also tasked NAEB (National Agricultural Export Development Board) to work on finding tea plantation and make a regular follow up to the execution of the project.
The factory has a production capacity of between 86 to 100 tons per day but in the beginning it will start with 20 tons per day and keep increasing depending on the increase of tea plantation.
According MIG (Multisector Investment Group), construction works are expected to be finished in April and tea processing to start by 15 April 2013.
Around 300 hundred people will benefit from employment in the Mushubi Tea Factory on the beginning of tea processing.
