Fuel marketing company Engen Rwanda, during last month’s Kigali-held Power and Infrastructure Investment Forum (iPAD), had its new products – POWEROIL TO 1020 and Air1 take centre-stage at the Engen stand for their outstandingly innovative nature and top quality.
Engen, also the bronze sponsor of the event that was held on 3rd and 4th November, is now selling the two products to energy companies and individuals that have transformers, generators and engines of the like.
“Why we are bringing these products is that we have seen that Rwanda is still very reliant on fuel for generators and energy production. We are coming with these solutions to reduce the use of fuels by increasing the performance and efficiency of the engines,” explained Sarah Doukoure, the Managing Director of Engen Rwanda during the event.
She noted that with increased efficiencies of the machines, it would translate into increased savings by people and companies not spending a lot of money on fuels.
“If on one electricity line you are saving 10 to 15 per cent of fuel, it is significant,” she said.
She noted that the Air1 oil saves Diesel fuel use by around 5 per cent such that if one uses a Diesel engine car that consumes 50 litres, 5 per cent of that can be saved using the oil.
About POWEROIL TO 1020
POWEROIL TO 1020 is high quality transformer oil that meets all the latest global equipment builder specifications.
It is manufactured by Engen Petroleum Limited in South Africa, under license of APAR industries limited to the IEC 60296:2003 -11, 3rd Edition Standard Specification and is exclusively marketed in Rwanda by Engen Rwanda, assured Doukare.
It is a high quality napthenic base uninhibited insulating oil with high dielectric strength and chemical stability. The expected life of transformer oil is 40 years or more.
In order to meet this expectation, POWER TO 1020 (60U) has good chemical stability when exposed to elevated temperatures, which is essential in preventing the formation of acidic materials that impair the insulating properties of the oil.
To carry out its cooling and insulating functions with a minimum power requirement when pumped and to ensure the most effective heat removal when circulated by thermal action, the oil has a low viscosity at operating temperature and good fluidity at low temperatures.
About Air1
Air1 is AdBlue commercialised by Yara, the world’s largest AdBlue producer. It is also the world’s leading brand of AdBlue, used since 2006 by millions of heavy duty vehicles around the world.
Air1 is the quality product which has been selected by a number of Original Equipment Manufacturers to help guarantee engine performance as well as low emissions level. By selecting Air1, you also ensure that wherever you are located, your Engen dealer will be able to supply you with a reliable source of AdBlue.
How does AdBlue work?
Adblue is not involved in the engine combustion. The Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system is external to an engine and the AdBlue is automatically sprayed into the exhaust gas going through a catalyst which creates a chemical reaction that converts nitrogen oxide (NOx) to harmless steam and nitrogen which are emitted from the exhaust pipe.
On the vehicle, AdBlue is contained in a separate tank. You only need to refill the AdBlue tank when the gauge indicates that the tank is nearing empty.
