Airtel Rwanda and Facebook have partnered to offer free web access to Rwandans while using the Airtel network. Through Free Basics by Facebook, Rwandans will be able to access various websites through the Airtel network at no cost.

Freebasics.com is a platform created by Facebook in order to offer free access to selected websites around the world. Through Free Basics by Facebook, Rwandans will be able to access various websites through the Airtel network at no cost.
As long as you can access the internet on your phone, there will be sites that you will be surfing for free.
- How does one access this free internet?
Accessing the free internet is very simple. There are two options for this.
For people with smartphones, you can download the Free Basics Android app on Google play store or visit www.freebasics.com on your phone with a SIM card from Airtel.
For our customers without smartphones, you just open your web browser and visit www.freebasics.com your phone with a SIM card from Airtel.
It is all free of charge.
- What category of websites can one be able to visit for free?
The categories that one can browse through include; sports, entertainment, local information, health, education, communication and jobs.
Among the free websites to be accessed on Free Basics while using the Airtel Network include; Facebook, BBC Africa, Inyarwanda.com, Wikipedia, BabyCenter & MAMA, Dictionary.com, Super-Sport, Bing search engine, and several others.
