Radisson Blu Kigali on Thursday kicked off its festive season activities in the presence of dozens of children who were in awe when the tree of about twenty metres was lighted.
Father Christmas was on hand to give the children sweets and cookies, and some beer and wine to their parents, as the enormous tree erupted in white lights followed by the dome of the Kigali Convention Centre, adjacent to the Radisson Blu, shining in bright red and white.
“Christmas is an important event around the world,” said Sami Ounalli, Hotel Manager of Radisson Blu Kigali. “And we thought we had to do something for our people, our town, our community.”
That is why Radisson Blu Kigali came up with a full end-of-year program, which started with the lighting of the Christmas tree.
The hotel will continue with daily events during the festive season, with a Christmas bazaar starting on the 23rd December, which will feature local arts and crafts and food.
The culmination will be on New Year’s Eve with a double concert of Rwandans Sauti Sol and Nigerian singer Yemi Alade.
“We want to do daily entertainment for our town and our guests, and Radisson Blue is welcoming everyone,” Ounalli said.
