First motorcycle given away in Airtel’s Tunga promotion

The first weekly winner of a motorcycle in the ongoing Tunga promotion of Airtel Rwanda has received his prize at the RunTown Experience concert at Amahoro Stadium, Airtel was among the partners to host the concert.

Jean Pierre Nishimwe from Nyamirambo in Kigali was the first lucky winner of one of the 12 motorcycles that can be won in the Tunga promotion.

“I was overjoyed when Airtel called me to give me the good news. This is the second time I am winning a motorcycle in the Tunga promotion, I cannot thank Airtel enough – it is the best network I can advise anyone to be on”, said a beaming Nishimwe.

“We launched the Tunga promotion to reward our customers; this is just the start and we will reward 11 more customers, and 1 customer will win a brand new car at the end of the promotion. We still have 11 motorcycles to be won weekly plus a grand prize of beautiful Avanaza car to give away,” said Airtel Rwanda Commercial Director Moses Abindabizemu.

MC Seburikoko gets ready to give away the motorcycle.

The Tunga promotion was launched on 14th September 2017 and will run for 3 months. Every week, a motorcycle is up for grabs, while the promotion will culminate in the awarding of a Toyota Avanza car.

To sign up for Airtel Tunga, customers can send an SMS to or call 155 and follow the prompts. Customers participating in the promotion will each earn 100 points for every correct answer, and will additionally receive 50 points for effort even if they get the answer wrong. To check his points, a customer can dial *155#.

The price of an SMS sent to155 is Rwf 100 only, as is the cost of responding to a question via voice call.

N.B.: All winners will receive a call from an Airtel Rwanda official on the number 0731-000-000 notifying them on the date to redeem their rewards. Rewards can only be redeemed by the SIM card holder whose ID or passport number matches the one registered on his number.
