The annual Rwanda International Trade Fair, better known as Expo, opens its doors this Tuesday, August 22, at the Gikondo Expo Grounds in Kigali.
The fair, which will end on September 6, is hosted by the Private Sector Federation and the Ministry Of Trade, Industry, And East African Community affairs. Up to 300,000 visitors are expected at the Expo, which has attracted exhibitors from some 20 countries.
The event is an occasion for the local business community to strengthen trade and economic cooperation with international exhibitors. The expo will provide them a platform to network and share experiences, and forge partnerships. It also enables exhibitors to share business and investment ideas, which results into opening up of new businesses in Rwanda by foreign participants.
The Expo will focus on supporting the Made-in-Rwanda initiative aimed at promoting the consumption of locally produced goods.
