Engen staff visit Kigali Genocide Memorial

Engen staff led by their Managing Director, Sarah Doukoure, lay a wreath on one of the mass graves at the Memorial.

Staff of fuel marketer, Engen Rwanda on Friday visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site as they marked this year’s commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsis in which over 1 million people lost their lives.

The visit to the memorial, where over 250,000 victims were laid to rest, was a somber one for the staff that was led by their Managing Director, Sarah Doukoure.

The Engen staff received explanation from officials at the site on the horrific events that took place in 1994, and were also shown an introductory video of survivors telling their story.

They then lay wreaths of flowers on the burial grounds of the site after which they toured the memorial.

The Engen staff also made a donation to the maintenance of the site.
